For example, a company had invested significant budget into implementing an AI-based web chat capability for their corporate website. It was initially difficult for them to determine what impact this new web chat capability was making on website visitors interested in specific products.
Specifically, the desire was to find out how many website visitors engaged with the chat bot, requested to be transferred to a live agent, and the impact the chat bot had on driving website visitors through the buyers journey stages to ultimately make a product sale.
Through data analysis of the individual web chats, it became clear that a significant percentage of the time website visitors interested in learning about products requested a live agent, they were not connected to an agent in a timely fashion and dropped from the web session, preventing a potential sale.
By building a data relationship between the chat bot data, Salesforce customer and other internal corporate data, the analysis also enabled a visualization of the sales funnel for leads initiated through the chat bot from primary contact to a closed deal.
